The Kid’s Kampus Summer FUN Program is a great way to keep your kids busy during summer vacation. Our goal is to help your kids have a FUN summer along with learning new things about the world around them. Each week of Summer FUN Kamp will have a theme. During each week we will have numerous field trips, projects, and activities that relate to that week’s theme.
Each age group will have a monthly planner indicating field trips, projects, and activities that are planned for your child. The departure time for field trips will be listed on the planner in bold print on the corresponding day. Parents will be notified, in advance, of any changes. Please note, that your child(ren) must be at the center prior to the departure time to attend that day’s field trip.
Our field trips are selected to give the kids new experiences and learn new things. Examples of the field trips we will be going on are Botanical Gardens, The Discovery Center, Boise Aquarium, and Zoo Boise. We also make a special trip to the fair at the end of the summer. We always welcome any parent volunteers who would like to accompany us on a field trip.
Crafts, Projects, & Cooking Lessons:
On days were there are no field trips we will plan numerous FUN activities to keep the kids busy and maybe teach them some new things along the way. We will learn how to recycle paper, plant a flower garden, build model rockets, go on a scavenger hunt, have guest speakers, and many other FUN surprises.
Things that we provide:
During the summer we will be going on field trips where sack lunches are required. We will provide a sack lunch for each child, with a sandwich, fruit, veggie, and beverage.
We will also be providing bottled water for field trips that require us to be outside for long periods of time, such as the park, the zoo, the fair, etc.
Things to Remember:
Car Seats, Tennis shoes and socks, sunscreen, and FUN Camp T-Shirts:
Children that require a car seat to ride in the van will need to have it dropped off on the day of the field trip with their name on it. Booster seats are preferred, but not required.
For the kids’ safety, socks and shoes are required for most field trips. Sandals and flip flops are not always appropriate.
We will apply sunscreen before any outdoor activities, filed trips or outside time. Please make sure you have signed the permission slip for us to apply sunscreen and that your child’s sunscreen has their name on it.
Camp t-shirts are required for ALL field trips.
Rules and Regulations for Field Trips
Our field trip policies and procedures are very effective to ensure that your child has a safe and FUN summer. We do roll call and head counts constantly before, during, and after each field trip. Your child’s safety is our number one concern.
All field trip children will be expected to follow all safety and behavior rules. This ensures that all the children will have FUN on the field trips. If your child has a difficult time on a filed trip, they may be asked to stay at the center for the next one. We truly hope this does not happen, however if it does occur there will be no refund for that missed field trip.
